Blissfully basking in the bright sunshine and hopeful spirit of spring, we send our very best greetings to you all. These longer, warmer days have been welcomed with enthusiasm and gratitude, renewing our appreciation for the beauty of the world—and the fine art—around us. Between a bounty of new arrivals, the unveiling of our next exhibition and the release of a highly anticipated new signed limited edition print, we couldn’t be more excited to share these latest updates with you all.
To celebrate the next chapter for our recently refurbished contemporary space, we excitedly unveil our newest exhibition, ‘God’s Women, Good Men and Monsters’, featuring the work of York Artist—and our very own Senior Gallery Assistant—Kirsty Maclennan. Bringing together a collection of ten specially commissioned pencil illustrations for The Crow Emporium Press’ new publication of Dracula, the exhibition showcases Kirsty’s drawings in an immersive and contextualised collection of film, music and curios, offering a fascinating delve into Stoker’s classic gothic tale and the making of this edition. After successful runs at the Pannett Art Gallery in Whitby and the Crypt Gallery in London, this ITV featured exhibition will finish its tour at York Fine Arts, with Kirsty’s finely detailed illustrations available to purchase for the very first time. Now revealed that there are more than a few familiar faces from the York Fine Arts team to be found within, this exhibition is truly one for the books!
After much anticipation, York Fine Arts is delighted to release its newest signed limited edition print, ‘Moonlight Kiss’. Part of Jay Nottingham’s much loved moonlight series, the print is published exclusively by York Fine Arts and limited to just 65. With its uncomplicated shores, sweeping sky and small splash of red, Jay’s newest print makes the most wonderfully romantic escape for contemporary collectors. Order yours early to avoid disappointment!
The arrival of spring has brought a fresh, renewed energy to the gallery, no doubt in part to the arrival of new artwork from Mike Hall, Sean Durkin, Carl Whitfield, Andrew Grant Kurtis, Alan Smith, Stephen Hawkins, Raymond Campbell, Stephen Park, Richard Telford, Jay Nottingham, and Ken Burton. New work is also expected from Rupert Aker in the next few days, with new paintings from Julian Mason also soon to make their appearance. Do keep a close eye on our Recently Acquired page for these and any other new additions to arrive over the course of the month. With such a wealth of talent amongst our represented artists, there is always a new delight to be found.
We hope you will enjoy our April Newsletter. As ever, we thank you for your patronage and look forward to welcoming you to the gallery soon.
