<p>Peering into a Michael John Ashcroft painting is like looking back at a memory, they are both sharp and undefined in equal measure. Affectionate and sun-dappled, <em>Back</em><em> Lane t’Pub</em> is a perfect exemplar of this. Through smatterings of emerald and olive greenery we are drawn into the sleepy country lane, filled with the promise of a cold beer to cap off an afternoon’s ramble.</p>
