Description
A classic, rustic still life painting from one of the country’s leading living artists, Apple, Walnut and Grapes is a small-scale masterpiece. Raymond Campbell has the distinct talent of being able to elevate everyday objects and transform them into items of impossible beauty. In the artist’s hands an apple becomes a glistening, speckled jewel; a bunch of grapes transform into a cluster of glassy rubies; a simple walnut, dull and earthen, becomes a curious mirror from which light bounces. An essential addition to any collection, big or small.
