Description
The calm before the storm, the whistle is yet to blow in Across the Green and Beyond, signalling the end of a hard day’s work. Soon the streets will overflow with working men eager to get home for supper, their boots pounding the pavements, their laughter and chatter filling the air. Sean Durkin never fails to charm us with his affectionate depictions of Northern Britain.
