Gordon Lees’ The Close of a Cotswolds Eve is bathed in tranquillity, as another winter’s day draws to a close. While the residents of the small village stoke their fires and look forward to a night by its warm glow, an intrepid pair take the dog for a last quick walk, taking in a star-studded early evening, as the blazing sun begins to disappear behind the church tower.
