York Fine Arts is delighted to congratulate Ian Rawling on his recent success while exhibiting with the Pastel Society, as part of their annual exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London. An evening of merrymaking and celebration culminated in an awards ceremony, during which Ian’s original pastel artwork ‘Ovaltine Van’ was bestowed the Schmincke Prize. The award was presented by renowned curator and broadcaster Katherine Soriano, familiar to many for her role as a presenter on Sky Arts’ Portrait Artist of the Year and Landscape Artist of the Year.
Surrounded by family and friends, Ian accepted the award during the exhibition’s Private View, the night before the show opened to the public. If you would like to view Ian’s award-winning pastel artwork in the flesh, the exhibition will run until Saturday the 3rd of June at the Mall Galleries.
A career-defining and most well-deserved accolade, Ian’s emergence as a contemporary realist pastel artist may be recent, but his work and talent speak for itself. He has swiftly gained the attention and admiration of collectors and now, as a Pastel Society member and award winner, the recognition of the country’s foremost authority on excellence in the medium of pastel.
