Meet the Artist Event: Clare Haley
Posted by York Fine Arts / Friday 11th of July, 2025
Yorkshire artist Clare Haley will be visiting the gallery on Saturday the 2nd of August to celebrate the opening of her 10th anniversary solo exhibition, ‘Clare Haley: Light of Yorkshire’. From 1:00pm-3:00pm, visitors will have a special opportunity to meet Clare and talk about her work, her inspiration and her process.
Of the event, Gallery Manager Deanna Dawkins said,
“We are absolutely delighted to give our visitors the chance to meet Clare for her 10th anniversary solo exhibition. Speaking with artists is always incredibly fascinating; their first-hand narratives and insight really add an even deeper layer of enjoyment of their work. But as Clare’s paintings primarily spring from her imagination, this is a particularly exciting opportunity to meet the mind behind the masterpiece.”
Painting professionally since 2010, Yorkshire artist Clare Haley is best known for her dramatic, light-drenched landscapes. Working in oils from her small studio in Holmfirth, Clare seeks to capture the untamed allure and emotion of the northern landscape she so loves. She develops the atmospheric content of her paintings through location photography, research of weather and cloud consequences, imagined places and her experience living in an area of such raw beauty.
‘Clare Haley: Light of Yorkshire’ opens on Friday, the 1st of August and runs until Sunday, the 31st of August.
