York Fine Arts is delighted to congratulate contemporary artist Michael John Ascroft, ROI on the selection of his painting, ‘On Time, Oxford Road Station, Manchester’ for the Royal Academy’s iconic and longstanding Summer Exhibition. The world’s largest open submission exhibition, the Royal Academy’s annual Summer Exhibition has celebrated art in all forms since 1769.
For the 2023 show, the 1,614 featured works include pieces by Phyllida Barlow RA, Richard Malone, Joe Lycett, Tracey Emin RA, Hew Locke RA, Barbara Walker RA, Gavin Turk, Lindsey Mendick and Caroline Walker, among others. This year’s exhibition is co-ordinated by renowned British painter David Remfry RA, who has chosen to explore the theme ‘Only Connect’, taken from the famous quote in Howards End by E.M. Forster.
