Amidst a blaze of bright sunshine and warmer days, the gallery doors have been thrown open with excitement, eager to welcome our visitors and herald the summer now so tangibly within reach. As the season unfolds, we look forward to opening two new exhibitions, each presenting distinguished work and fresh opportunities for inspiration and discovery. Combined with improvements to our online shopping experience and some outstanding new additions to our collection, we simply cannot wait to share our latest updates with you all.
Later this month we open our Summer Exhibition, setting a bright and jovial tone for the season ahead. A mixed show featuring the work of Marissa Weatherhead, Michael John Ashcroft, ROI, David Sawyer, RBA, Dianne Flynn and Philip Hearsey, the exhibition dives into the myriad delights of the summer experience. From far flung explorations to unhurried moments closer to home, moments of stillness and ease are balanced with an invigorating sense of vitality. Brimming with abundance, adventure and colour, the exhibition offers a contemplative escape to soak up the simple pleasures of the season.

It may be hard to believe, but Yorkshire artist Clare Haley’s annual solo exhibition is now just around the corner. Opening at the end of next month, ‘Clare Haley: Light of Yorkshire’ will bring together Clare’s latest collection of original paintings, including one of her coveted circular statement pieces. One of the gallery’s most highly anticipated shows of the year, we would highly recommend that keen collectors request a preview catalogue to get the first look at the collection.
In addition to the recent arrival of work from our new artist Marissa Weatherhead, this month the gallery has also received a bright and seasonal collection of work from Terence Clarke, Daniel Van der Putten, Carl Whitfield, Alex Hill, Andrew Grant Kurtis, Natalie Stutely, Stephen Park, Lee Fearnley, Richard Telford and Raymond Campbell. A few more pieces are also soon expected from Yorkshire wildlife artist Carl Whitfield and still life artist Colin Wilson. So do remember to keep an eye on our Recently Acquired page to catch the latest additions to our ever-growing collection.
We hope you will enjoy our June Newsletter. As ever, we thank you for your patronage and look forward
