August brings a rush of excitement as the gallery proudly opens our newest exhibition, ‘Clare Haley: Light of Yorkshire’. After months of anticipation, Clare’s magnificent paintings have arrived and are now hanging in their full glory. Each individual painting shares a single part of Clare’s multi-faceted experience with the Northern landscape; when viewed together, it becomes a harmonious experience, evoking something deep within. The gallery has never had such a large collection of Clare’s paintings available at once, so this exciting exhibition is certainly worth viewing early. For those unable to attend the exhibition in person, Clare’s full collection can be viewed online here.
This month the gallery has also received a wide range of work by Edward Hersey, Gordon Lees, Steve Williams, Sean Durkin, Natalie Stutely, Steve Thoms, Richard Telford, Stephen Park, Duncan Palmar and John Horsewell. Be sure to visit our Recently Acquired page to see for yourself the full spectrum of the gallery's newest additions.
We wish you the best, and hope to see you soon.

Inspired by the Newlyn School of Artists, Duncan's distinctive, representational style captures texture, light and atmosphere in his landscapes and coastal scenes. He seeks to evoke the same principles in his treatment of the interplay of light that those artists so successfully achieved in their paintings.
One original painting by Duncan Palmar is available for purchase.
Stephen has had commissions from as far afield as the USA, Australia and Europe. It can take many weeks of research and long hours at the easel to produce a painting of the quality that is required in today’s market.
Seven original paintings by Stephen Park are available for purchase.
Renowned for his style and attention to the detail of the British countryside, Edward Hersey has forged a strong loyal international following. His application of mood and lighting has made him one of the most highly sought after traditional painters of his generation.
A selection of original paintings by Edward Hersey are available for purchase.
